Job summary

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital is seeking a Part-time Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound studies and support the cardiovascular imaging team. The role involves 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, and TE and pathologies related to cardiac ultrasound.

Ideal candidates hold RDCS/ACS/RCS credentials with ARDMS certification and are prepared to mentor students while supporting a fast-paced clinical environment at Wayne site.

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent; graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound program.
• CRT-BLS (AHA) upon hire or ARC upon hire required.
• CRT-Sonographer (S) ARDMS; excludes Cardiac; 1 year required
• CRT-Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) ARDMS; Cardiac 1 year required
• CRT-Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RCS) 1 year required

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, and m-mode.
• Indicate clinical findings and contribute to diagnostic interpretations.
• Mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and students as needed.

Education

Scope to Work

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.

This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimal as gained at student level. Required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
• CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDE Cardiac 1 Year required
• CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac, General, Vascular 1 Year required
• CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required Or
• CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDES Cardiac EXCLUDES Vascular 1 Year required Or
