Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) for St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. The role performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams using ultrasound equipment to evaluate the heart, including TTE, TEE, and stress testing.

Required are an associate degree in a cardiovascular field, BLS, and certification (RDCS or RCS). At least one year of experience is preferred; EPIC EHR and PACS experience are desirable. On-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or related study.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association is required.
• Certification in echocardiography (RDCS or RCS) is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart (TTE/TEE) and cardiac stress testing.
• Demonstrates ability to perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Maintains knowledge of cardiac anatomy, procedures and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital EMR to review patient information and document findings.
• On-call hours required.
