Job summary

The Cardiac Sonographer 2 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple performs basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound including transthoracic and transesophageal studies and stress tests for adults.

The role requires graduation from an accredited radiology program, roughly 2 years of echocardiography experience, and proficiency in transthoracic echocardiography; on-site call, travel monthly 1-2 times, on-call weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Technical or Associates degree program in Radiology.
• Two years’ professional experience with intermediate level echocardiography or vascular skills.
• Registration as Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or RDCS is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and imaging equipment for echocardiography procedures.
• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal and stress echocardiography as needed.
• Identify and document cardiac abnormalities and correlate with patient history.
• Assist physicians in procedures and OR as needed.
• Maintain equipment and support ICAEL accreditation activities.
