Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Iowa or compact state required.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training completed.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire if not current.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate clinical information at handoffs to patients, families, and staff.
• Assess, plan, intervene, coordinate, and evaluate as per patient care plan.
• Maintain real-time documentation of nursing care per hospital policy.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff as assigned.
• Promote patient safety and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families; stay current on evidence-based practice.
