Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Medical Telemetry unit on the night shift. The PCT will report to the RN/LPN and perform patient care tasks to ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include rounding, toileting, vital signs, and basic treatments under supervision. The role requires BLS certification within 90 days and a CNA credential; no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US
• CNA certification or training preferred
• BLS healthcare provider certification required within 90 days of hire
• No prior experience required

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and visitors; respond to call lights and phones
• Perform hourly rounding and assist with activities of daily living
• Assist with safe patient handling, ambulation, transfers, and positioning
• Support admission, discharge and transfer processes and patient room setup
• Document patient care activities and vital signs; assist with procedures and treatments
• Provide care companion services as needed to maintain patient safety
• Perform indirect unit tasks like restocking supplies and equipment
