Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support our nursing team in the Cardiac Specialty Unit. You will assist with daily patient care, vital signs, mobility, and comfort, helping RNs implement care plans with empathy and teamwork.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year acute care experience preferred, and a valid Kansas CNA license or PCT Essentials training. BCLS is required on hire, with orientation prior to floor shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year acute care experience preferred.
• Kansas CNA license or completion of HCA Patient Care Tech Essentials training required.
• BCLS certification required on hire.
• Must complete PCT Orientation (2 full weeks) before transitioning to 12-hr shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Full-time NIGHT Schedule: 6:45p-7:15a; 3 12-hr shifts after orientation.
