Job summary

The Rane Center is seeking a Cardiac Specialty Scrub Technologist to support complex cardiac and congenital procedures, including robotic-assisted surgeries, by managing specialized instruments and providing intraoperative assistance.

Ideal candidates will have accredited surgical technology credentials and a strong background in sterile technique, robotics, and cardiac anatomy, with a knack for mentoring students and staff in high-acuity settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or National Certification.
• Ability to maintain sterile technique and field.
• Proficient in robotic systems and cardiac instrumentation.
• Strong teamwork with surgeons and nursing staff.
• Willingness to mentor students and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary scrub technologist for complex cardiac procedures (open-heart, hybrid, transcatheter, robotic).
• Prepare and manage specialized cardiac instruments, implants, grafts, and devices.
• Coordinate with Specialty RN for equipment, supplies and setup.
• Precept students, techs, and nurses in scrub role.
• Support intraoperative care including instrument handoff and specimen handling.
• Ensure sterile environment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with surgeons, interventional teams, and perfusionists to optimize flow.
• Provide vendor technical support for equipment and instrumentation.
