Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Cardiac Specialty Surgical Technologist for a 13-week contract in Miami, FL. The role provides scrub support for complex cardiac, congenital, hybrid, transcatheter, and robotic-assisted procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, surgical counts, and collaboration with surgeons, perfusionists, and OR staff. Requires accredited program or CST; BLS required; pediatric OR exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or nationally certified surgical technologist.
• Two to four years of surgical technologist experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Cardiac and congenital heart surgical experience strongly preferred.
• AHA BLS required.
• CST certification highly preferred.
• Experience with cardiopulmonary bypass and perfusion workflows preferred.
• Comfort working in a high-acuity pediatric cardiac OR environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary scrub technologist for complex cardiac and congenital heart procedures.
• Prepare and manage specialized cardiac instruments, implants, grafts, valves, and devices.
• Set up and maintain the sterile field.
• Perform surgical counts and participate in the surgical time-out.
• Support specimen handling according to hospital policy.
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, perfusionists, anesthesia providers, and other surgical staff.
• Support cardiopulmonary bypass, hybrid OR, cardiac catheterization, and robotic procedures as applicable.
• Maintain physician preference cards and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for scheduled cases.
• Anticipate procedural needs and respond calmly and independently during complex or emergent cardiac procedures.
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, patient safety standards, and cardiac-specific protocols.
