Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program with a certificate.
• Active California RN license.
• Must possess and maintain BCLS, ACLS (required AHA), Basic Dysrhythmia, and NIHS Stroke certifications upon employment.
• Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Delivers comprehensive nursing care to acute psychiatric and cardiovascular recovery patients in accordance with clinical needs, physician orders, and regulatory standards.
• Monitors hemodynamic status, interprets diagnostic results, and promptly communicates critical findings to attending physicians.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures, enforces time-out protocols, and conducts pain reassessments post-medication administration and prior to transfer or discharge.
• Initiates patient and family education and plans discharge transitions tailored to age‑specific requirements.
• Serves in charge nurse and supervisory capacities, directing patient care team activities across unit operations and Surgical Services.
