You will mentor staff, uphold infection control standards, and maintain accurate documentation while collaborating with the Director of Medical/Surgical. This position emphasizes safety, compliance, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with active California RN license.
• ACLS, BCLS, and stroke certifications preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and infection control.
• Experience in psychiatric and cardiovascular care.

Responsibilities

• Delivers comprehensive nursing care to acute psychiatric and cardiovascular recovery patients according to physician orders and regulatory standards.
• Monitors hemodynamic status, interprets diagnostic results (EKGs, POC Troponin), and communicates abnormal findings to attending physicians.
• Conducts initial and ongoing psychosocial, emotional, and pain assessments to guide care plans.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures, enforces time-out protocols, and revises care plans as needed.
• Initiates patient and family education and plans discharge transitions.
• Serves in charge nurse and supervises patient care teams across unit operations.
• Directs staffing coverage based on acuity and unit demand.
• Mentors staff, supports orientation, and conducts performance evaluations.
• Coordinates with department leadership on scheduling and recruitment.
• Maintains thorough nursing documentation in Medi-Tech and adheres to medication administration protocols.
