Job summary

St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals in Ann Arbor is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Med/PCU on the 7 East unit. The position offers a full-time, rotating day/night schedule with every-other-weekend and holiday coverage, in a 32-bed unit serving cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

The RN must graduate from an accredited nursing program, be eligible to sit for the NCLEX, hold MI RN license, and preferably have a BSN. BLS and ACLS requirements apply to designated departments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing with NCLEX eligibility.
• BSN preferred; if not held, commitment to obtain BSN within five years.
• Must hold Michigan RN license and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care
• Uses teach back methodology to educate patient and family
• Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital acquired
• Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs
• Follows all HIPAA policies and procedures
