Trinity Health in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Med/PCU 7 EAST unit. This full-time, rotating shift role supports adult and older adult cardiac patients with continuous monitoring and timely interventions.

The RN will participate in planning and delivering individualized care, educating patients and families, and coordinating with the care team. Michigan RN license, BLS and ACLS are required for select areas.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program eligible to sit NCLEX and obtain RN license; BSN preferred.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS for select departments.
• Experience with cardiac care or telemetry is preferred.
• BSN within five years of hire or transfer required per policy.

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse

Department: Cardiac Med/PCU 7 EAST

Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor

Position Purpose:

7 East provides services to older adolescent, adult, and older adult cardiac patients, acute and chronic Heart Failure patients, as well as medical surgical patients who require cardiac monitoring. Patients on the unit require close and frequent assessment and skillful and timely clinical interventions in order to achieve their treatment goals. 7 East is a 32-bed unit and the average patient age is 64.

Shifts Available:

Rotating Schedule - Day/Night Rotating; Day/Eve Rotating (8 & 12 hour shifts); 12-Hour Nights

Status Available: Full time, Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.

Required Qualifications:

Education

Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

Licensure

• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS.
• ACLS required for the following departments : Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency

Experience

Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply

• Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs
• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care
