Job summary

ChristianaCare’s Heart Failure Unit (5E) in Newark, DE, is seeking an RN to provide high‑acuity cardiac care on a 36‑bed unit with post‑operative LVAD/open‑heart beds. You will perform advanced assessment, continuous hemodynamic monitoring, medication administration, and patient education.

The full-time role rotates days and midnights (7A‑7P & 7P‑7A), 72 hours per pay, with weekends/holidays as required. DE RN licensure, BSN preferred with commitment to obtain BSN within three years; ACLS/BLS as

Qualifications

• Commitment to BSN within three years of date of hire.
• At least one year of RN experience required.
• Previous stepdown experience preferred.
• Previous critical care experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Advanced assessment with continuous hemodynamic monitoring.
• Medication administration and device management (e.g., chest tubes, central lines, pacing wires).
• Patient and family education; early detection of changes in patient condition.
