ChristianaCare's Heart Failure Unit 5E in Newark, DE is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, day/midnight rotating schedule. The role involves high-acuity cardiac care, including post-operative patients and LVAD management, with emphasis on vigilant monitoring, medication administration, and patient education.

Ideal candidates hold a BSN (or commit to obtaining one within three years) and have at least one year of RN experience, with preference for stepdown/critical care backgrounds.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of hire
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
• Previous stepdown experience preferred
• Previous critical care experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with chest tubes, surgical drains, large-bore central venous catheters, and external pacing wires
• Perform advanced assessment with continuous hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring
• Administer medications and educate patients
• Early detection of changes in patient condition and intervene as needed
