Job summary

The Mass General Brigham Cardiac Surgery department seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to support the Cardiac Surgery/Heart Center ICU. This 40-hour-per-week position involves 3-13 hour shifts with weekend/holiday requirements, onsite at 55 Fruit Street in Boston.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant required.
• Experience as NP/PA in Cardiac Surgery preferred.
• MA licensure required (RN/APRN or PA)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching in the cardiac surgery department.
• Assists surgeons in the operating room and performs clinical procedures.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates lab and diagnostic tests.
• Develops care plans and follow-up based on tests and exams.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions per policies.
• Documents admissions, progress, operative and discharge notes.
