Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Cardiac Surgery Heart Center ICU. You will participate in rounds, assist in the operating room, and coordinate care for postoperative cardiac patients.

Ideal candidates have ICU, preferably Cardiac ICU, NP or PA credentials, and a strong grasp of ECG interpretation, ventilators, catheters, and vasoactive medications.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree Nursing or Physician Assistant required.
• ICU experience preferred, especially Cardiac ICU.
• Strong knowledge of ECG, radiology, and laboratory data.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to patients in the cardiac surgery department.
• Assists surgeons in the operating room, performing technical procedures.
• Performs histories and physical exams.
• Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops care plans and follow-up based on findings.
• Prescribes medications per policies.
• Maintains thorough documentation including progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as appropriate.
