Job summary

Guthrie Cortland Medical Center seeks a qualified Echo Technologist to perform routine and emergency echocardiograms across locations and shifts, including weekends. The role requires coordination with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality imaging and patient care.

The candidate must have an allied health degree, ARDMS eligibility, and at least two years of experience, with strong emphasis on infection control and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Two-year allied health degree and one-year approved ultrasound program.
• ARDMS registration or eligibility within 6 months of hire.
• At least two years’ experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality echo exams including 2D/3D, Doppler, TEE and stress echocardiograms.
• Schedule tests, record results, and maintain logs and billing records.
• Disinfect TEE probes following established guidelines.
• Clean, maintain equipment, and report malfunctions to the echo lab manager.
• Review patient history to gather information for diagnostics.
• Prepare preliminary reports for Cardiologist review and comparison with prior studies.
• Instruct students, fellows, nurses or staff as requested.
• Maintain patient and clinic confidentiality and timely communications.
