Job summary

North-Okaloosa-Medical-Center in Crestview, FL is seeking an Echo Technologist to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies with independent judgment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and image quality to support physician evaluation.

You will collaborate with healthcare teams, perform 2-D imaging, M-mode, and Doppler, assist with TEEs, document results in the EMR, and uphold infection control and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of echocardiography or cardiac sonography experience.
• Proficiency in 2-D imaging, M-mode, and Doppler techniques.
• Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and teamwork.
• Ability to operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively, adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Competence in electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiographic studies, including 2-D imaging, M-mode, and Doppler.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures, including positioning and monitoring.
• Acquire Stress Echo and Dobutamine images with post-exercise image acquisition within 60 seconds.
• Assist physicians with TEEs, ensuring imaging quality and patient safety.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas for patient care.
• Document preliminary reports and results in the EMR, maintaining confidentiality.
• Verify patient identity, orders, and consents before procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to communicate patient conditions during procedures.
• Demonstrate age-specific care adapting imaging techniques.
• Maintain regular attendance and compliance with policies.
