Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction. This full-time role includes four 10-hour shifts, on-call responsibilities, and rotations between St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction and the Cardiology Clinic.

Responsibilities cover patient education, protocol-based ultrasound testing, and thorough documentation. Qualifications include ARDMS/CCI certification and BLS, with a preferred Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by identifying patients and educating them and families.
• Perform ultrasound exams in a timely manner according to protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Document exam results and apply charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and techniques.
