Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Technician to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician supervision at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, with rotations at the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction.

This full-time role offers four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday) with a rotating day off and on-call duties. ARDMS/CCI and BLS are required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. You will document results, coordinate exams, and support patient safety.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, offices, caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by identifying patients and educating them and families.
• Perform ultrasound exams consistent with protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability after exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students in equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply correct charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and stock.
• Coordinate repairs or supply needs.
• Support quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to develop skills.
• Provide education for caregivers and students as appropriate.
