Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiography procedures (M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow) and to obtain accurate measurements for interpretation. This role supports physicians in cath labs and EP labs to enable complex procedures with reduced risk.

The position requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, excellent patient service skills, and intermediate computer skills. Advanced Sonography training is required; no prior experience is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiography (M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow) and measures parameters for accurate results.
• Identifies cardiac abnormalities and extends exam scope as needed.
• Prepares patients, collects history, and adapts imaging to obtain diagnostic echocardiograms.
• Assists in transesophageal studies with cardiologist and sterilizes probes.
• Communicates findings to staff.
• Maintains Echocardiography Lab and equipment; reports malfunctions.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care per department standards.
