Job summary

Mercyhealth in Wisconsin and Illinois seeks an Echocardiography Technologist to perform echocardiograms, stress tests, and TEE as part of a comprehensive heart imaging team. You will prepare patients, ensure high-quality imaging, and participate in on‑call coverage as needed.

Ideal candidates hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in sonography or a related field, with ARDMS or CCI credentials and CPR certification.

Qualifications

Experience performing echocardiograms per standard protocol.
Ability to follow ASE standards for measurements and imaging quality.
CPR/BLS certification and ongoing education required.

Responsibilities

Performs echocardiograms per standard imaging protocol and ensures high quality, safe patient care.
Actively works in Adult Echo/Stress/TEE and may include call coverage.
Recognizes arrhythmias and notifies physician when needed.
Assesses recording quality and provides technical comments on findings.
Documents patient info accurately in medical record and ensures charges are correct.
Educates patient and family about the procedure and records the process.
Responds appropriately in emergencies and follows safety procedures.
Notifies coordinator of equipment issues and manages repair paperwork.
Maintains inventory of supplies and assists with orientation of new staff.
Attends department education and staff meetings and pursues ongoing CPR cert.
