Job summary

Ochsner Health Center is seeking a per diem Echo Sonographer to perform echocardiograms and related tests, including 2D/M mode, Doppler, and Color Flow imaging, along with stress echo protocols as needed. The role emphasizes quality patient care and collaboration with the health care team.

Requirements include an active RDCS/ARDMS or RCS credential within 6 months of training and a high school diploma. BLS is required; preferred is 1 year of cardiac ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active RDCS or RCS registry within 6 months of completing 12 months clinical experience.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred: 1 year experience in cardiac ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, instructs, and educates patient on procedures.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Documents and keeps records.
• Prepares work area.
• Effectively plans, organizes, and exercises good judgment.
• Maintains clinical knowledge and credentials.
• Adapts communication to patient population.
• May work nights, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Supports physicians with interventional procedures using ultrasound guidance.
