Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an ultrasound technologist to operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment for M-mode Echocardiography, 2-D Sector Scan, color flow, invasive transesophageal echocardiography and Doppler studies. The role includes bedside procedures and collaboration with physicians to evaluate cardiac function.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology and RDMS certification, plus at least two years of cardiac ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through the American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• At least two years experience in cardiac ultrasound techniques.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with critically ill patients, physicians and hospital staff.
• Ability to transcribe medical documents accurately.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts and interview patients to obtain information for tests.
• Perform testing in department and at patient bedside, including IV antibiotics administration and vital signs monitoring.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to assess cardiac function and measure dimensions for quantitative evaluation.
• Prepare preliminary data and ensure accuracy of reports for physician interpretation.
• Type and proofread reports and manage distribution of documents.
