Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a skilled Cardiovascular Device Nurse to provide direct patient care and manage pacemakers and defibrillators. You will perform device interrogations, review remote transmissions, and educate patients on device function.

The role requires strong computer and organizational skills, knowledge of cardiac devices, and CPR certification. Office-based with potential travel to satellite locations; full-time, 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree encouraged/preferred.
• Good computer and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to identify cardiac arrhythmias and abnormalities in devices; CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care and monitor cardiovascular devices, including pacemakers and defibrillators.
• Perform device interrogations and reprogramming as scheduled or urgent in-office visits.
• Review remote transmissions and correlate data with patient condition to manage arrhythmias.
• Document care and device data in the EMR and ensure accuracy of charges and reports.
• Provide patient education on device function and care; communicate results to physicians.
• Schedule transtelephonic checks and triage messages for timely provider response.
• Collaborate with cardiology staff and device nurses to ensure safe, effective patient care.
