Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate the heart catheterization laboratory and support a multidisciplinary team. You will handle fluoroscopy, monitor patient vitals, assist physicians, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires an associate degree in radiologic sciences with BLS/ACLS readiness, ARRT registration, and the ability to work flexible hours including on-call. Experience with PACS is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree in radiologic sciences.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in radiologic sciences.
• BLS certification (AHA).
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in state of practice and ARRT registration.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local radiation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in patient setup and prep before procedures and post-procedure cleanup.
• Document in procedure log for accurate billing and interventions.
• Operate radiographic fluoroscopy to image coronary and peripheral vessels.
• Hemodynamic monitoring during procedures and report values to physician.
• Monitor radiation dose to ensure patient/staff safety.
• Transmit and retrieve digital images via PACS.
• Perform quality control and regular maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment.
• Adapt communication and procedures to patient needs and privacy requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
