Job summary

Ochsner Health System in New Orleans seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate fluoroscopy in the heart catheterization laboratory and to monitor patient vitals during procedures. The role includes preparing rooms, assisting physicians, and ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in radiologic sciences with ARRT registration and BLS; ACLS within the first 6 months of hire. Prior lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in radiologic sciences is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in radiologic sciences is preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (state) and ARRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in patient setup and post-procedure cleanup using safe transfer techniques.
• Document procedures to reflect accurate interventions for billing and records.
• Operate fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary and vascular disease.
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and relay values to physician.
• Manage radiation dose delivery to ensure staff safety and patient protection.
• Transmit and archive digital images in PACS and maintain equipment quality control.
