Job summary

McLaren Health Care’s Cardiovascular Unit seeks a part-time patient care assistant to support nurse-led care during nights (7pm–7:30am). You’ll help with daily activities, comfort, hygiene, and safe, infection-controlled environment, under RN supervision.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient contact, adherence to HIPAA, and delivering quality care to diverse adults. A high school diploma and BLS within 30 days are required; prior direct care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: prior experience in direct care and CENA training.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care interventions delegated by the RN to support treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for daily activities and personal hygiene.
• Ensures compliance with health care regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe, clean environment and adheres to infection-control policies.
