Job summary

McLaren Health Care—Cardiology in Bay City, MI—seeks a Nurse Assistant to support patient-centered care under a licensed nurse. You will perform daily patient care tasks, maintain a safe, healing environment, and respond to patient needs with empathy.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Nurse Assistant program, and BLS certification. Preferred: six months’ acute care experience and phlebotomy training.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Certification program or equivalent
• BLS certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.
