Job summary

Holy Cross Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute/Cardiac unit in Silver Spring, MD. This part-time, 24 hours weekly night shift role involves bedside care and direct patient education for a mix of cardiac and medical patients with telemetry needs.

The successful candidate will hold Maryland RN licensure (or Compact state) with BLS, and prefer a BSN. Prior acute-care, especially cardiac, experience is valued and EMR proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred).
• Current licensure by Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as an RN.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably cardiac.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of the patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family during stay and in discharge planning.
