Job description

The Carbon Trader role within Voluntary Carbon Markets and Article 6 involves developing mid and senior-level relationships with top-tier companies and actively closing transactions that meet client demands and MicroEnergy Credits' objectives. Your performance will be evaluated based on an ambitious annual sales plan.

The goal is to grow both personally and as a company in this rapidly expanding market. You will be responsible for trading products such as carbon offsets, renewable power, among others, including distributed HH tech, NBS, and CDR.

We assist our clients in reducing environmental risks, maximizing output, and leveraging our network. You will receive full support from the management team and colleagues.

The daily responsibilities include:

  1. Communicating daily with customers and understanding their needs.
  2. Proactively approaching new customers to expand the client database.
  3. Conducting local market research on environmental commodities and contributing to growth efforts.
  4. Creating new commodity deal structures to meet MEC and client needs.
  5. Collaborating with the team to structure deals benefiting customers and MicroEnergy Credits.

Requirements

  1. Fluent in English, either as a first language or bilingual.
  2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  3. 5 to 7 years of experience in carbon trading, brokering, or business development.
  4. Ability to develop leads through business development, cold calling, networking, and IT/Data applications.
  5. Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
