Energy Power Trader - NorthStar Clean Energy - Remote

This position is with NorthStar Clean Energy, a CMS Energy company, and is not an employment position with Consumers Energy.

The Sr. Energy Commodities Trader is responsible for buying/selling, researching, and transaction operations for energy commodities in ISO and OTC markets. Responsibilities include monitoring market movements, analyzing data, developing research models, executing trades, and managing post-trade processes. The role involves developing procurement strategies based on energy fundamentals and purchasing commodities accordingly.

This role can be remote with occasional travel to headquarters. Not available to residents of California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, or New York.

Responsibilities

• Generate market reports and forecast trends
• Maintain relationships with key accounts
• Develop and manage Day Ahead and Real-Time offers in ISO markets
• Manage a portfolio of electric products
• Participate in market meetings and liaise with regulators
• Respond to client inquiries and analyze market data
• Identify investment opportunities in electric markets
• Track sales and costs
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of marketing principles and management strategies

• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and publishing tools
• Knowledge of Electric Power models, ERCOT/PJM trading, and environmental attributes

Minimum Requirements
