Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in Seattle is seeking a Research Associate for the Gene Engineering and Delivery team to advance next-generation cancer immunotherapies. You will design, clone, and evaluate DNA constructs and contribute to viral vector production and characterization in a fast-paced research setting.

The role requires hands-on molecular biology and cell culture experience, including transfection and transduction of T cells, plus strong data analysis and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • B.S./B.A. in a scientific discipline with 2+ years of hands-on research experience preferred.
  • Strong molecular biology skills including assay development, design and cloning of complex DNA constructs, PCR, RT-PCR, and preparation of mRNA and DNA.
  • Experience with tissue culture techniques including transfection of mammalian cell lines and transduction of T cells.
  • Excellent organization, time management and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to design and execute experiments with supervision.
  • Excellent written, visual, and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and clone DNA constructs to support CAR T cell therapy development.
  • Culture mammalian cell lines for viral vector production and gene delivery applications.
  • Set up and run molecular characterization and cellular assays to evaluate viral vector performance.
  • Produce viral vectors to enable gene delivery workflows.
  • Collaborate with team members to assess feasibility of novel gene delivery methods.
  • Process and analyze data, review results, and communicate conclusions clearly.
  • Maintain accurate electronic lab notebook records and supporting documentation.
  • Summarize and present data in group meetings and written reports.
  • Work cross-functionally to execute and improve experiments and assay performance.
