Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb's Gene Engineering and Delivery team in the Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center seeks a highly motivated scientist to advance next-generation cancer immunotherapies through molecular design, viral vector engineering, and gene delivery innovation.

This role focuses on designing, cloning, characterizing, and producing viral vector constructs that enable development of CAR T cell therapies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
  • 2+ years of academic or industry experience.
  • Strong molecular biology skills including design and cloning.
  • Experience with tissue culture and transduction of T cells.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • BS/BA with 4+ years hands-on experience in relevant field.
  • PCR, RT-PCR, and mRNA/DNA preparation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and clone DNA constructs for CAR T cell therapy development.
  • Culture mammalian cells for viral vector production and gene delivery applications.
  • Set up molecular characterization and cellular assays to evaluate viral vector performance.
  • Develop new molecular and viral vector characterization assays.
  • Execute viral vector production and characterization protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to assess feasibility of novel gene delivery methods.
  • Process and analyze data, review results, and communicate conclusions clearly.
  • Maintain detailed electronic laboratory notebook records and supporting documentation.
  • Summarize and present data in group meetings and written reports.
  • Work cross-functionally to execute and improve experiments and assay performance.
