Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Captain to oversee the saft operation, maintenance, and safety of the vessel and its passengers. You will supervise the crew, direct day-to-day activities, and ensure compliance with USCG and company policies.

Responsibilities include safe vessel navigation, crew training, incident reporting, and maintaining vessel readiness. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional organization, and a commitment to customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• Min 100-TON Master Inland or higher license required.
• TWIC, First Aid/CPR required.
• Marine Radio Operator Permit required.
• Detail oriented with strong situational awareness.
• Strong radar/navigation and safety focus.
• Customer service, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onboard manager and representative of the company.
• Ensure safe, efficient vessel operation and navigation in all weather.
• Maintain vessel manning per COI and record passenger counts.
• Train crew and ensure compliance with USCG, Federal and State laws and company policies.
• Report accidents or incidents promptly and complete required forms.
• Oversee vessel appearance and cleanliness.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vessel systems.
• Conduct safety drills and maintain security procedures.
• Lead daily shift briefings and crew conduct in line with policy.
• Ensure adherence to Coast Guard rules and regulations.
