Job summary

Hornblower Group seeks a USCG-licensed Captain to operate a small passenger vessel under National Park Service contract around the San Francisco waterfront and Alcatraz Island. You will lead the crew, ensure safety, and uphold environmental and company standards.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive maritime knowledge, and a commitment to exceptional passenger service within a busy tourism environment.

Qualifications

• USCG Inland Masters (100 ton) license required.
• FCC Marine Radio License required.
• California driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Two (2) years of boat handling experience.
• Customer service experience is helpful.
• Open schedule including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Serve as master in navigational command with proper watch standards.
• Directly manage, supervise, and train crew in marine safety and operations.
• Lead training and drills for emergency preparedness.
• Maintain vessel operation logs and reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with USCG regulations and Alcatraz policies.
• Oversee performance reviews and coaching of crew.
