Job summary

Applegreen is seeking a Project Manager – Capital Projects to support its U.S. capital investment program across the travel plaza portfolio.

You will manage multiple concurrent capital projects from planning through construction, turnover, and opening, coordinating with Operations, Commercial, Finance, Procurement, and brand partners. The role requires strong ownership, organization, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, multi-market environment while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent project management experience.
• 5+ years of PM experience in construction, retail, or multi-site environments.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent capital projects.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and change-management knowledge.
• Experience in active operating environments with minimal business disruption.
• Experience coordinating with general contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors.
• Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with PM software is a plus.
• Willingness to travel regularly to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple capital projects through full lifecycle: scope, design, budgeting, procurement, permitting, construction, turnover, and closeout.
• Develop budgets, schedules, forecasts, milestone tracking, and risk communication.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and brand partners to drive projects from concept to opening.
• Align project execution with operational, merchandising, and business objectives.
• Manage new fit-outs, remodels, brand conversions, and renovations in active environments.
• Develop phasing to minimize downtime and lost sales.
• Review drawings, specs, proposals, and scopes for completeness and constructability.
• Support bidding, procurement, change orders, and cost control.
• Lead regular site visits, meetings, and coordination among trades and stakeholders.
• Resolve field issues, escalate material risks, and propose practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, equipment requirements, and opening criteria.
• Maintain project documentation: budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, minutes, risk logs, punch lists.
• Provide timely reporting to the Director and senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate turnover and opening activities with Operations, IT, Procurement, vendors, and brand partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and cost efficiency across the portfolio.
