Job summary

Oglethorpe Power Corporation seeks an experienced Project Manager for Capital Projects to drive the full lifecycle from permitting and design to commissioning and closeout at large generation assets. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets exceeding $10 million, and ensure schedule alignment with corporate standards.

Responsibilities include developing execution plans, coordinating stakeholders, controlling costs, and delivering safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience supporting major industrial, power generation, or capital projects.
• 10+ years of project management experience, including at least five years managing complex projects.
• Experience managing capital projects or a project portfolio with values exceeding $10 million.
• Equivalent experience may include 14+ years at large power plants involving maintenance, capital projects, and budget management.
• Experience leading project teams and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
• Supervisory or resource-management experience, including hiring, orientation, training, development, workflow planning, and performance management, is preferred.
• Experience managing contracted project managers or external project resources is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned capital projects through the full project lifecycle, including permitting, engineering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, testing, and closeout.
• Develop, maintain, and execute the Project Execution Plan in alignment with corporate standards and processes.
• Coordinate project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and internal partners to achieve objectives.
• Define project organization and identify resources needed for delivery.
• Coordinate with OPC leadership to assign qualified team members to the Project Team.
• Collaborate with Operations and Technical Services on reviews, start-up planning, and turnover.
• Incorporate lessons learned and best practices into planning and execution.
• Prepare clear, timely project status reports for senior management.
