Job summary

Oglethorpe Power is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical engineering work across generation assets and capital projects at our Atlanta, GA headquarters. You will provide senior technical direction, oversee testing, maintenance programs, and reliability initiatives, and partner with plant teams to drive safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience required.
Power generation maintenance or plant engineering experience preferred.
Experience supporting capital projects, electrical testing, troubleshooting, or reliability programs preferred.
Professional Engineer license or advanced technical certifications preferred, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Lead complex electrical engineering work supporting generation assets and major capital projects
Provide technical direction for electrical systems, equipment, testing, troubleshooting, and reliability initiatives
Support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to improve long-term asset performance
Partner with plant operations and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and improve reliability
Review engineering studies, designs, specifications, standards, and contractor deliverables
Identify technical risks, recommend solutions, and support continuous improvement across OPC's fleet
Serve as a senior technical resource for electrical engineering questions, standards, and best practices
