Job summary

The City of South Burlington is seeking its next Deputy Director of Capital Projects to lead one of the state’s largest municipal CIP initiatives, managing transportation-related infrastructure, including bicycle and pedestrian networks, recreation and parks, open spaces, and facilities.

The role partners with the Director of Public Works to prepare and manage division budgets, and to develop short- and long-term capital expenditure programs, plus oversee contracts involving construction,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with coursework in construction management, transportation management, engineering or related field.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in construction/transportation/engineering.
• Valid Vermont Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects and processes for transportation-related infrastructure (bicycle/pedestrian, recreation, parks, open space, facilities).
• Work with the Director of Public Works to prepare and manage division budgets and capital expenditure programs.
• Oversee contracts involving construction, engineering and grants.
