Job summary

The City of South Burlington is seeking its next Deputy Director of Capital Projects to lead one of the state’s largest municipal CIP initiatives, managing transportation-related infrastructure, including bicycle and pedestrian networks, recreation and parks, open spaces, and facilities.

The role partners with the Director of Public Works to prepare and manage division budgets, and to develop short- and long-term capital expenditure programs, plus oversee contracts involving construction,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with coursework in construction management, transportation management, engineering or related field.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in construction/transportation/engineering.
• Valid Vermont Driver License.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the Deputy Director of Capital Projects you will:

Manage capital projects and processes for infrastructure related to transportation, including bicycle and pedestrian, recreation & parks, open space areas, and facilities.

Work with the Director of Public Works to prepare and manage division budgets, making recommendations for short- and long-term capital expenditure programs.

Oversee of contracts involving construction, engineering, and grants.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Bachelor's Degree with course work in construction management, transportation management, engineering, or related field. Six (6) years' progressively responsible professional experience involving construction management, transportation management, or engineering, equivalency considered. Possesses a valid Vermont Driver License.

SALARY RANGE:

$105,000 - $115,000 annually
