Job summary

South Burlington, City of (VT) is seeking a Capital Improvements Program (CIP) Manager to lead planning and implementation of the CIP across facilities, open space, recreation & parks, and transportation infrastructure. You will work with the finance director, department heads, and external partners to ensure timely, compliant project delivery.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in construction/transportation/engineering and at least six years of progressively responsible experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with course work in construction management, transportation management, engineering, or related field.
• Six (6) years' progressively responsible professional experience involving construction management, transportation management, engineering, or related field preferred, equivalency considered.
• Possesses a valid Vermont Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Managing capital projects and processes for infrastructure related to transportation, including bicycle and pedestrian, recreation & parks, open space areas, and facilities.
• Developing working relationships with city officials, boards, commissions, state and federal agencies, contractors, engineers, and the public.
• Coordinating CIP development with the finance department and overseeing implementation of the plan.
• Preparing city ordinances related to transportation, public works specifications, and related topics for City Council consideration.
• Assisting with advocacy activities at the state legislature and with state agencies.
