Job summary

The City of Austin, Capital Delivery Services Department, is seeking a senior project manager to lead large administrative projects, coordinate staff, and manage contracts. Under minimal supervision, you will define requirements, assemble teams, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining compliance.

You will prepare reports for the City Manager and Council, present to management teams, and drive continuous improvement across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; six years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• Experience guiding complex administrative projects and programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements projects including requirements gathering, staffing, and team formation.
• Negotiate contracts with consultants, approve terms and payments, and manage performance remedies.
• Plan timelines for start-up and completion of projects; monitor budgets and schedules.
• Review contracts for compliance and administer change orders and estimates.
• Prepare reports and correspondence for City Manager, Mayor, and City Council offices.
• Prepare City Council agenda material and deliver presentations to leadership.
• Provide leadership to staff and coordinate department work plans.
