Job summary

IMDiversity Inc. in Austin, TX seeks an Assistant Director for Austin Capital Delivery Services to lead planning, design, construction, and operational controls for capital projects.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with City departments and external agencies to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. The role requires deep knowledge of engineering, public administration, and project controls, with strong communication and leadership skills to report to City leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus eight years related experience, four in a managerial capacity.
• Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required work experiences.
• Experience leading capital projects and project controls teams is preferred.
• Ability to translate complex technical and financial details for a broad audience.

Responsibilities

• Develops goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Plans staffing structures for capital delivery to support the City’s program.
• Coordinates activities with other departments and outside agencies.
• Represents the department at meetings and with the public, monitoring budgets.
• Leads supervisory activities including staffing, training, evaluation, and discipline.
• Maintains relationships with Boards, Commissions, and City leadership.
