Job summary

The City of Auburn Engineering division seeks a Project Engineer to join our Capital Projects team, owning the design and construction of capital public works improvements that touch residents' daily lives.

You will develop and review project plans, bid specifications, cost estimates, and contracts, coordinating with Federal, State, County and local agencies, franchise utilities, and other City departments to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and licensure (PE) required or equivalent.
• Two years of civil engineering project management experience preferred.
• Experience reading and reviewing engineering design plans/specs and familiarity with municipal public works standards.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manages the design and construction of assigned capital public works improvement projects.
• Develop and review capital public works improvement project plans, bid specifications, cost estimates, and contract proposals.
• Coordinate with federal, state, county, and local agencies, utilities, and other City departments on project delivery.
