The City of Auburn is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Capital Projects team, driving ownership across multiple engineering disciplines and directly impacting Auburn residents.

The role offers professional development, cross-department collaboration, and long-term growth within a stable public sector environment. A Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and relevant licensure are required, with opportunities in design, construction, and project management.

Qualifications

• Experience managing capital public works projects.
• Ability to read and review engineering design plans and specs.
• Familiarity with municipal public works standards and processes.
• Strong communication with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manages the design and construction of assigned capital public works projects.
• Develop and review project plans, bid specs, cost estimates, and contract proposals.
• Coordinate with Contract Administration, Utilities, Traffic, Survey and Construction sections.
• Engage with Federal, State, local agencies, railroads, utilities, private owners and other departments.
