Cooley LLP, a leading global law firm, seeks a Capital Markets resource attorney in Chicago. The role enhances marketing and know-how sharing for the Capital Markets practice, supporting issuers and banks in transformative deals and regulatory matters.

The attorney will not bill time for clients but will bolster practice resources, client alerts, and external materials. Strong governance knowledge and 5+ years of capital markets experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years in capital markets practice.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and SEC reporting.
• Experience representing issuers and investment banks in capital markets transactions.

Responsibilities

• Keep current on legal and regulatory developments relevant to Capital Markets.
• Develop topics for client alerts, white papers and external-facing tools.
• Develop and maintain internal practice resources to share know-how with clients and prospects.
• Create, maintain and update archives of work product and know-how within Capital Markets.
• Assist with coordination of speaking arrangements, webinars and materials.
• Maintain and update forms and templates for Capital Markets reflecting current developments.
• Work with Marketing to formulate and execute Capital Markets branding and presence.
• Provide information to Marketing for responses to RFPs and business opportunities.
• Coordinate with Professional Development for skills training within the group and firmwide.
• Coordinate with IS and Practice Innovation to adopt new technologies to improve efficiency.
