Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Associate Director-Capital Infrastructure Projects to lead capital infrastructure programs for utility clients across the Southwest. You will manage cross‑functional teams, drive project delivery, and ensure regulatory compliance, budgeting, and performance reporting.

Primary focus includes grid transformation, infrastructure expansion, and technology innovation in electric and gas utilities, with travel up to 25% and onsite work at client or Guidehouse offices.

Qualifications

• US citizenship or permanent residency is required for client engagements.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics, finance, public policy or related discipline plus 7+ years PM experience in power utilities.
• Knowledge of capital projects lifecycle beyond IT project management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with stakeholder and financial management.
• Ability to visualize and synthesize project data for data‑driven decisions.
• Willingness to travel and work onsite.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor project teams and coordinate workstreams.
• Monitor and evaluate project activities and overall performance.
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and strategy.
• Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation and reports.
• Oversee contracts and project financials.
• Establish and report on key performance indicators.
• Analyze project data and generate insights to improve performance.
• Identify problems and propose solutions.
• Provide operational support with stakeholders and timelines.
• Coach and drive adoption of project management methodology.
• Coordinate with client account teams to develop innovative solutions.
• Support growth and client satisfaction within teams.
• May include grants management compliance.
