Job summary

RTX is seeking an Associate Director, Capital Equipment, to lead a team of Capital Equipment Engineers across the Operations network. You will own equipment standards, oversee contracts, manage 1-, 3-, and 5-year expenditure forecasts, and ensure sourcing aligns with procurement and company guidelines.

Travel is ~25%. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years in capital equipment engineering or an advanced degree with 10+ years, plus experience leading technical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12+ years of experience in capital equipment engineering, capital project execution, manufacturing/industrial engineering, facilities engineering, or a related discipline, OR, an Advanced degree and 10+ years of prior relevant experience 3+ years of experience leading engineers, project managers, or technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple capital equipment projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead Capital Equipment Engineers team, coaching and developing performance.
• Prioritize capital portfolio and resources to align with project schedules.
• Drive technical excellence and continuous improvement across the engineering team.
• Forecast capital expenditure across 1-, 3-, and 5-year horizons with financial visibility.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Legal on contracts, sourcing, and supplier issues.
• Develop and govern equipment standards, technical contracts, and statements of work.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, regulatory requirements.
