Job summary

Broward County Government is seeking an Assistant General Manager in the Transportation Department, Capital Delivery and Infrastructure Maintenance Division. You will lead design and construction efforts, manage budgets and staff, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver major capital projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or closely related field.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
• Requires six (6) years progressively responsible experience in major public transportation projects and infrastructure.
• Must obtain and possess a valid Florida Driver's License for duration of appointment.
• Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of Federal Transit Administration programs and CMAR delivery methods (preferred).
• Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in Florida (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Leads design and construction program for capital delivery and infrastructure maintenance division.
• Directs coordination between planning, design, and construction phases.
• Oversees adherence to schedule, budget, quality and safety commitments.
• Develops operating and capital budgets; manages staff and consultants.
• Liaises with partner agencies and project stakeholders.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws in all work products.
